Hotel Indigo® Anaheim
435 W. Katella Avenue
Stay at the crossroads.
It was John Rea – a rancher from one of the area's ranking families – who first coined the name “Katella Avenue.” Sort-of stumbled over it as he yelled across the farm for his daughters Kate and Ella to come in for dinner. Back then, Katella was a dusty wagon trail connecting ranch communities. But the name stuck.
So we painted murals of farmstead scenes and preserved the hardwood floors; a tip of the hat to John Rea & the others. And the West.
Katella Avenue, today? A palm-tree lined boulevard in arms-reach of the city’s historic district, world class dining and retail. Even Disney, a few steps away. A connecting road for trade of a different sort. Yet now (as then) in sync with the spirit of the times. And still the best place in the city to ride in, tie up your horse and experience Anaheim.
